Written by someone who rides in the masters. In case you aren’t of a ‘certain age’ and/or haven’t heard Snappiness by BBG, it’s an Italian house / Balearic classic from 1990. It’s a perfect sunset /end of the night track. 30 seconds of it or download it.
Someone has started a Crankworx blog, whether they keep it up to date once the real ‘festivities’ begin remains to be seen. Over in NZ the preparations are going nicely for a preview and some other stuff, vorb have it covered. What with Si referencing parts of many people’s collective memories in his race reports, it looks like its staring to get big again. It must me if the papers are picking up on it; I’d have thought that police would have better things to do what with all those ASBOs getting drunk and stabbing each other on a Friday night. This will probably raze a smile if you're over a certain age.
After a collaboration with We Clothing, they’ve signed up Bryce Kanights as “Adidas Originals Skate Team Marketing Manager” whatever that means. Bryce worked at Thrasher for over ten years. Some of the advertising is by Evan Hecox and Dave Kinsey , who have also done some limited edition shoes. Mark Gonzalez is still on board. The new direction seems to be heading away from the tech styled shoes of the past like the Mark Gonzalez signature shoe, which was Clima-Cool’ed and all the rest, most of the new shoes are the classics with newer tech stuff added. Hence the name I guess, take a look. As usual Adidas’s approach blows Nikes soulless attempts out of the water. Video about yellow…
The Hotel has a few people going to the big rave / festival up the road; seem to be ‘year out, in Goa’ types. Staying in hotel seems to be at odds with the festival ethic, but the sunset from our room and the restaurant / bar is something else. Oh its only 40 degrees outside!
